About my Writings

I often feel the desire, even the necessity, to write what I call intimate reflections on art, simply digressing about painting or about the emotional state of the painter during the process of creation.

These notes tend to be very intimate, as in most occasions they are nothing but a confrontation of the artist with himself, with creation, with his own limitations. He is limited within the unlimited space he moves in, whether as a protagonist or as a supporting character, or even as a mere spectator.

Nevertheless, I enjoy sharing with “watchers” of my work some of these intimate episodes the artist enjoys or suffers through in the process of creation.

I am in no way trying to explain my painting or the creative process involved in my work; my only desire is to be a mere spectator of these paintings. Once they leave my hands, they are no longer mine. They have acquired a life of their own and are therefore at complete and total liberty to be seen and interpreted.
